Project: Patterns and Backgrounds :)

Why, hello! So this is my project using patterns and backgrounds (you may have deduced that from the title).

*Abe's Speech
This close-up is from a copy of the Gettysburg Address hanging in my bedroom. I thought the horizontal lines of flowing script made a nice pattern. (*This photo is one of my three for the project.)

*Six-Pointed Sun-Rose. I don't like the background in this picture. The huge pine tree to the left immediately steals focus, and the two cars also visible don't exactly fit with the nature-ish theme. Lastly, it's hard to tell that the flower in front of the sun is a rose at all, because the sunlight covers too much of it. This photo was taken in my front yard.
*Climbing Death
These lovely flowers in my kitchen have steadily been decaying from bottom to top. I used a lot of photo editing to darken the background so that you wouldn't see my family room and to enhance the sombre mood the title implies. The downside to that is the creation of lots of negative space.

Leaves in a Cradle. This photo (taken in my front yard) turned out better than I thought. I mean, it could be better - the green grass shooting everywhere is kind-of "busy", and the brown brick wall blends too much with the dead leaves; but the green of the grass, "cradling" the leaves counters that somewhat. (Do NOT use this as part of the graded project.)
